How to polish a watch folding clasp Apple Watch ?
Polishing a band with a deployant buckle for a watch Apple Watch is a delicate operation. It is important to understand the mechanics of the process before attempting to polish your watch, as this can damage the buckle.
The products that can be used to polish a folding clasp are toothpaste (normal, not gel) or certain car body maintenance products ("scratch remover" paste or a product such as Belgom ALU), whose abrasive action is fairly light.
It all depends on the material. On brushed metal, it is particularly difficult to remove scratches. We therefore advise you to use only toothpaste because it is the gentlest way. This will avoid removing too much material and give a polished look while everything else is brushed.
On polished metal, you can use the "scratch remover" paste or a product such as Belgom ALU, an "all-purpose" cleaner that polishes, shines and protects aluminum. Although designed for vehicle bodies, it works quite well on scratches on polished metal watches and is not very abrasive, so should not damage the surface.
On a chrome-plated steel folding clasp, it is better to avoid polishing yourself or just use toothpaste as other products might be too abrasive and uncover the metal under the chrome layer.
On a titanium folding clasp, you can use an ink eraser or a fiberglass brush for brushed titanium. Be careful though: be careful and rub gently, in the direction of the finish if it is brushed titanium.
1 - Open the buckle attachment system
As in the picture below, open the metal part at the end of the buckle. Don't hesitate to force it, the system is designed to be held firmly.
2 - Adjust to your wrist size
Place the buckle pin in the hole that fits your wrist size. The measurement must be done with the buckle closed.
3 - Fold the loop
The folding buckle closes on itself as shown in the picture below. The band must already be worn on the wrist.
4 - Insert the band in the loops
While closing the buckle, insert the leather band into the loops as you would with a traditional band .
5 - Clip it!
Press firmly on the buckle, a click will sound confirming that the buckle is locked. To open, pull hard on the buckle.
I'm lucky enough to travel a lot as part of my job, and I was looking for a band leather watch that was both chic and comfortable enough to be forgotten when worn on my wrist.
Although I was initially put off by its price, which I felt was a little high before I bought it, I have to admit that Éternel, with this Rallye , has succeeded in offering a band that is not only elegant to say the least, but also of such irreproachable quality that it's a purchase I really don't regret.
At the opposite end of the spectrum from the bands... "low-end" products you can easily find here and there on the net, this one will give a truly unique look to your Apple Watch (I personally own an Ultra 2, with which it goes perfectly well), while giving it a touch that's both "all-purpose" and quite vintage and classy.
Having had a few problems with folding buckles, I have to admit that I wasn't really a fan of this type of closure; but this one made me reconsider my apriori opinion (once you understand how childishly simple it is to use), so easy is it to securely fasten your watch to your wrist.
