The story

Sometimes a simple meeting is enough to give birth to beautiful things. In 2020, we met a start-up from Lyon, Ictyos, with whom we share the same values. Specialized in marine leather, they transform fish skins destined to become waste into a precious raw material.

Apple Watch We then made the crazy bet to launch the first collection in the world of bands in marine leather, more precisely in trout leather. For this first collection, we chose four classic colors from an almost infinite range: Aurora, Black Pearl, Red Coral and Emerald. Classics are classics for good reason. To go with this leather, we designed a new Art Nouveau buckle with arabesque curves. It recalls the Greek letter Omega, symbol of end but above all of renewal. A bit like this marine leather, to which we give a second life.

Origin

In order to guarantee the highest quality marine leathers, Ictyos selects the finest fish skins from its French agri-food partners and always favors a short circuit, respecting the environment by limiting its footprint as much as possible carbone. Through this action, the entire industry is encouraged to improve its practices:

• To obtain the best hides, the animals must have enough space,
• They must live long enough to be of sufficient size,
• The creation of waste is limited. Today 50 tons of fish skins are thrown away per year in France.

The Horizon collection is made from trout leather, known for its suppleness, high resistance and very fine and regular grain. It is obtained by vegetable tanning in order to make the leather eternal and to avoid its natural degradation over time. This method of tanning, one of the most appreciated by leather enthusiasts, also protects your skin against any allergy.
